Layered: Pink & Green

I purchased OPI Sit Under The Apple Tree last month on sale at Ulta. It is a beautiful, but VERY sheer lime green with shimmer. I wanted to find a use for this polish so I decided to try it for layering. Today I used two coats of Essie Pink Parka as a base, then one coat of Sit Under The Apple Tree on top. The lime green helped tone down the neon pink creating a beautiful manicure. I love the results!

Too Hot Pink To Hold Em & Starstruck

OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold Em is a pretty jelly pink polish on its own but I had time to add a topcoat so I used Ulta Starstruck. You can read my first review on Starstruck here. I think these two polishes look neat together. It is especially pretty in the sunlight.

Sugar High & Starstruck

China Glaze Sugar High is a simple bubblegum pink on its own. I thought it needed something extra so I added one coat of Ulta Starstruck on top. Starstruck is a silver glitter suspended in clear polish that shines rainbow depending on how the light hits it. I think Startstruck is a pretty topcoat and I would recommend picking it up next time Ulta has a sale.

Pink Marble With White Cap

Ulta Pink Marble is a metallic pink that is pretty but is not super unique. Every Ulta polish I have tried has had a smooth application. You cannot beat the price when their polishes are on bogo. What really made this mani special was the addition of China Glaze White Cap. White Cap is gorgeous. It will turn any polish into something special.

Material Girl with Silver Stamping

I decided to stamp over Ulta Material Girl with Sally Hansen Celeb City. The silver stamping is a little fuzzy over top of the magenta glitter, but in the right light the combination is really pretty.

Ulta: Material Girl

Ulta Material Girl is a beautiful dark magenta. The combination of the shimmer and holo glitter gives the polish a great depth, and a glass-like finish. This is my favorite Ulta polish out of the six I have tried. Material Girl is unlike any polish I have, I highly recommend picking it up next time Ulta has a bogo.

Weekend Polish Shopping

I did some major nail polish shopping this weekend. I took advantage of several coupons and sales at Target, Ulta, and Sallys.

Sallys entire stock of nail polish during the month of April is buy 2 get 1 free. I picked out China Glaze: Purple Panic, Coconut Kiss, and Orly Oh Cabana Boy. I will probably stop by Sallys later this month to purchase a few more

I had a few Sally Hansen coupons for Target which made the two Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes less than fifty cents a piece. I am looking forward to stamping with Celeb City! Lastly from Ulta I used their $3.50 off of $10 coupon and picked up Ulta Material Girl, Pink Marble, and China Glaze White Cap. (Ulta polishes were 2 for $4). Although I had no intentions of doing so much shopping this weekend, I love everything I purchased :)

Flower Garden Nail Art

I tried freehand nail art today. I made a little garden on each finger. My right hand turned out extremely messy. For now I will have to stick with nail stamping and tape manicures lol.

Ulta Plum Perfect & Firefly

Ulta Plum Perfect is a pretty purple creme. I was trying to branch out of pinks when I purchased this polish, and I am glad I did. The formula is pretty good; it is not too thick and dries quickly. I really like the small Ulta bottles, and when they are on sale they are very cheap!

I was bored half way through the day and decided to use Jesse's Girl Firefly as a top coat. Firefly is gorgeous. I am completely obsessed with this polish, and if I come across another bottle I will be adding it to my 100 follower giveaway.

Nubar & Maybelline & Envy

I quickly became bored with Ulta Envy so I decided to try a few different topcoats. This is Maybelline Salon Expert in Rock Out. This polish must be pretty old. I purchased it last year 2 for $1 from the Dollar Tree. This polish is pretty worthless on its own, but it makes for a pretty topcoat.

On my other hand I tested Nubar 2010. I purchased this polish online last year after failing to find Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure. Nubar is a clear base with red/orange/gold/green duochrome flakies. It is a very pretty topcoat, but I think it looks even better over a black polish.

Which topcoat do you like better for Envy?

Ulta Envy

A few months ago I purchased four Ulta polishes when they were buy one get one free (normally $5 each), and I had a coupon for $3 off of $10. That made all four polishes $7 total! I decided to branch out and purchase a color other than pink. Ulta Envy is a beautiful dark green shimmer polish. This is two coats, no topcoat.

I like the square Ulta bottles, and the tiny brushes. I would purchase more of their polishes if they had this deal again, but I do not think I would pay $5 a piece for them.
